The Filipino Values

Hey guys ! Did you know that it took me more than one day to finish this post? Honestly, I find it quite hard to express my thoughts about this topic. It was quite tough finding the right words about how I feel being one of the Filipinos. I just realize that we're really in deed rich in unique ideas, ethical practice, culture, and values. It is only in the Philippines you can find this things that make us different among other nations!

Let's concentrate discussing some Filipino Values:

                                               THE FILIPINO HOSPITALITY.

I think it's on our blood already. Wherever you go in the world there are also hospitable people you may find but ours is exceptional. We have this unique approach and treatment towards our visitors even to strangers. To the extent that we became food in the plate for the invaders hundreds of years ago and yet that value was never erase to our culture. I remember when I was small whenever we have a visitor, I am very happy! Because that is always the time my parents buy Jollibee or Mcdonalds for our guest! And that makes my day! :)

                                                     CLOSE FAMILY TIES
The family is very important to Filipinos. To the extent they only eat once a day, what matter is they were living together. Filipinos get strength to their families and this serves as an inspiration for them to work hard. And for the families' elders, many Filipinos avoid sending there elders to orphanages and just live them alone to the nurses. Here in Philippines, we have this payback time to our dear elders on all there sacrifice, love and care to us.

                                                           POLITENESS

Filipinos are in deed respectful individuals. Children were taught from their young age to respect elders by using "po" and "opo" when talking to elders. We are also taught of doing "mano po" to the elders to show respect. On other countries, they used to kiss their elders' hand or kiss them on their cheek.

A lot of more values to discuss and these are only some of the things we always been proud of to everybody in wherever we may go. There are many negative critics against our race but if I will be given a chance to choose what nationality would I want to be, I will honestly still choose to be a Filipino because this is the best I can be and nowhere else. For me, NO ONE BEATS "PINOY".

  1. I, too, liked it when we had visitors. My parents would bring out the best chinaware, towels, food, toiletries, etc. ;)
